Who are the "Purchaser" and the "Storyteller"?
The Purchaser is typically a family member who sets up the account, selects questions, and manages the subscription. The Storyteller is the person recording their memories, usually an older adult who prefers speaking over typing.
What languages are supported?
The platform currently provides full support for English and Hebrew, including right-to-left (RTL) layouts and gender-specific audio variants for Hebrew questions.

This feature uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash to act as a digital biographer. The AI listens to your recorded answers and asks intelligent follow-up questions across a seven-step interview process to capture deeper details.
How does "Ask the Storyteller" (NoteBookLLM) work?
It creates an interactive relationship with the memoir. Family members can type new questions, and the AI searches the recorded transcripts to generate a response delivered in the storyteller's authentic cloned voice.
What is an "Essence Profile"?
While a standard memoir captures what you said, the Essence Profile captures how you say it. It uses 78 research-backed psychological questions to identify your unique linguistic patterns, humor style, and personality traits to make AI responses feel more authentic.
What is the "Magic Link"?
To make things easier for elderly users, Purchasers can generate a Storyteller Link. This allows the storyteller to access the recording interface instantly without needing a password or standard login process.

How do credits work for AI queries?
Queries use a tiered credit system: text-only queries are the least expensive (100 credits), generic voice queries cost more (250 credits), and cloned voice responses cost 500 credits due to the high processing power required for voice synthesis.
Privacy & Security
Is my voice and data secure?
Yes, all data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Sensitive API keys are restricted to server-side processing, and the system uses Firebase Authentication for all access.
Who can see the final memoir?
The storyteller maintains total control. Access to the full memoir is blocked until the storyteller grants explicit approval, and they can manage an accessList to determine which family members can view it.
Does voice preservation require consent?
Absolutely. The storyteller must provide explicit verbal consent which is recorded and stored as proof before the AI is permitted to clone their voice.
