Terms and Conditions

By accessing or using Heirloom4Life ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Ehud Riesenberg ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of Heirloom4Life.

Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

Heirloom4Life is an AI-powered memoir creation platform that enables users to:

• Record and preserve family stories through voice recording
• Use AI-powered interview questions to guide storytelling
• Create voice clones using ElevenLabs technology (requires 30+ minutes of audio)
• Generate digital memoirs with AI-assisted transcription and organization
• Query memoirs using advanced AI (Google Gemini) to extract insights and answer questions
• Share memoirs with family members via email-based access control

Technology Stack: Our Service uses Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for AI queries, ElevenLabs for voice preservation, and Firebase for data storage and authentication.

Service Availability: We strive to provide 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.

Heirloom4Life uses a credit-based system where different AI operations consume different amounts of credits:

• Storyteller Query (500 credits): "What was Dad like as a young man?" - Requires full memoir context with RAG retrieval, multi-turn conversation, and voice preservation for response playback.
• Generic Query (100 credits): "Summarize this chapter" - Lightweight AI processing with single-turn response.
• Text Query (1 credit): "Show me all mentions of 'war'" - Database search only, no AI processing.

Active Subscribers: Unused credits roll over to the next renewal period, up to a maximum of 2× your tier's annual allocation. For example:

• Basic: Max rollover = 24,000 credits (2 × 12,000)
• Premium: Max rollover = 60,000 credits (2 × 30,000)
• Family: Max rollover = 100,000 credits (2 × 50,000)

Tier Changes: When upgrading, all existing credits carry over with no limit. When downgrading, credits are capped at 2× the new tier's allocation, and excess credits are forfeited.

Cancelled Subscriptions: If you cancel your subscription, unused credits remain accessible in read-only mode but cannot be used for new AI queries.

Memoir-Specific: Credits are tied to individual memoirs and cannot be shared across multiple memoirs (except in Family tier).

Family Tier Exception: Family tier subscribers can share 50,000 credits across up to 5 member accounts.

Payment Processor: All payments are processed through Lemon Squeezy, a third-party payment provider. We do not store your credit card information.

Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew on their anniversary date unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You will receive an email reminder 7 days before renewal.

Failed Payments: If a renewal payment fails, we will attempt to charge your card up to 3 times over 14 days. If all attempts fail, your subscription will be downgraded to Freemium.

Taxes: Prices do not include applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST. You are responsible for any taxes imposed by your jurisdiction.

Currency: All prices are listed in USD. Your bank may charge currency conversion fees.

Cancellation Process: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

No Pro-Rated Refunds: We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial subscription periods. If you cancel mid-year, you retain access until your subscription expires.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee: First-time subscribers may request a full refund within 30 days of initial purchase if dissatisfied. To request a refund, contact support@heirloom4life.com.

Credit Bundle Refunds: Credit bundles are non-refundable once purchased, as credits are immediately added to your account.

After Cancellation: Your memoir transitions to read-only mode. You can still listen to audio stories and view your book, but cannot create new AI queries.

Your Content: You retain full ownership of all stories, audio recordings, photos, and other content you upload to Heirloom4Life.

License to Us: By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We will never sell, share, or use your content for marketing without your explicit permission.

Voice Cloning: When you consent to voice preservation, you grant us permission to use your audio recordings to train a personalized AI voice model via ElevenLabs. This voice model is used exclusively for your memoir and is not shared with other users.

AI-Generated Content: Content generated by AI (transcriptions, summaries, AI interview questions) is owned by you. We do not claim ownership of AI-generated outputs.

Deletion Rights: You may delete your account and all associated content at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We retain backups for 30 days for recovery purposes.

You agree NOT to use Heirloom4Life to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory content
• Violate intellectual property rights of others
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Upload content containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or compromise the Service
• Share your account credentials with others (except Family tier members)
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written consent
• Scrape, crawl, or index the Service using automated tools

Violation Consequences: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy without refund.

Data Storage: Your content is stored on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) with industry-standard encryption (AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit).

Third-Party Services: We use the following third-party services to deliver our features:

• Google Cloud: Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, Gemini AI, Firestore, Cloud Storage
• ElevenLabs: Voice cloning and synthesis
• Lemon Squeezy: Payment processing

GDPR Compliance: If you are a resident of the European Union, you have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Contact support@heirloom4life.com to exercise these rights.

Data Breaches: In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by law.

Service "As Is": Heirloom4Life is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

AI Accuracy: AI-generated content (transcriptions, summaries, questions) may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI outputs before relying on them.

Voice Cloning Quality: Voice clone quality depends on the quantity and quality of audio you provide. We require 30+ minutes of clear audio for best results but cannot guarantee perfect voice replication.

Third-Party Downtime: We are not liable for service interruptions caused by third-party providers (Google, ElevenLabs, Firebase, etc.).

Limitation of Liability: In no event shall Ehud Riesenberg be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ehud Riesenberg from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page, with the "Last Updated" date revised.

Notification: For material changes (pricing, credit policies, major features), we will notify you via email at least 30 days in advance.

Continued Use: Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must cancel your subscription.
